This presentation (Effective Feedback for ESL Speakers) was AMAZING. Yvea knows her stuff, and I hope I can now give better evaluations to the ESL speakers.
It was a pleasure to attend the Effective Feedback for ESL speakers session led by Yvea Zaels. Even during a short presentation, Yvea was able to cover key areas of how to provide the effective feedback.
One of her strengths is how she links psychology, language, and culture. Her first-hand experience helps build trust and provides full credibility. Thank you.
I was awed by this session (Effective Feedback for ESL Speakers) when I first attended it in 2011. I was lucky to get a chance to attend 2 years later. This much improved session with exercises is a must need for both ESL and English native speakers.
At the session I got to correct some of my pronunciation with specific and direct tips given to me. Both me as ESL and my evaluator who was a native speaker had our Aha! moment. Must have for all.
Yvea is a very passionate and engaging presenter. I had the opportunity to attend one of her seminars - Effective Feedback for ESL Speakers.
Her willingness to provide insight through her personal experiences provided much credibility to the presentation. It was a very positive experience for me and her investment in helping other ESL speakers is commendable.
I was one of the lucky participants in your "Effective Evaluations of ESL Speakers" session. I am so thankful that I had this chance - the session was a great, the advice and examples provided were so valuable!
The team that I represent consists mostly of ESL speakers. There would be immense benefit for all of our members to learn from you.
I had the good fortune of watching Yvea make a presentation during a major Toastmasters gathering last week. Yvea conducted an educational session on how to provide effective feedback to those speakers who speak English as a Second Language (ESL).
The topic that Yvea chose to present was very important, as many members have been trying to think of ways to provide effective feedback to ESL speakers. Although I am a Speech-Language Pathologist with a background in teaching English as a Second Language, I too wanted strategies to help me provide constructive evaluations to ESL speakers that would have the effect of truly increasing their confidence in public speaking.
Yvea is a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM), which is a title that is awarded to those who have achieved the highest level in the Toastmasters. After watching her presentation, it was not a surprise that she belongs to this elite group.
Yvea provided very effective and easy to understand strategies that we could apply right away. The organization, content, and delivery of her presentation was outstanding. This, in combination with her effective use of PowerPoint and a well laid-out pamphlet made it a very engaging and informative presentation.
At the end of the evening I felt very confident that I could now provide effective, positive, and encouraging evaluations to ESL speakers. I spoke to others who felt the same way.
Yvea’s outstanding presentation was a very important one, and it was very much appreciated by the audience.
